My current research explores the relationship between composition, sound design, perception and performance, with particular attention to immersive listening environments and the behaviour of sound in space.
At the centre of this work is the concept of Sonic Gravity: a practice-based framework for understanding how sounds may appear to attract, resist, destabilise, orbit or transform one another within a musical environment. Rather than treating sound as a fixed object, this research considers sound as a dynamic presence shaped by movement, resonance, spatial behaviour and perceptual relation.
This research is closely connected to PhonoSphere – The Tale of Water, an interdisciplinary performance work for piano, spoken text, live electronics, field recordings and visuals. The project functions both as an artistic work and as a research environment, investigating how acoustic and electronic elements interact in real time.

Current work
This research is being developed as part of my MSc Sound Design at Edinburgh Napier University and through the continuing development of PhonoSphere – The Tale of Water.
Further materials, including research notes, diagrams, excerpts and documentation, will be added as the work develops.
